Endorses Elissa Hansen for Duluth City Council At-Large
(Duluth, MN, May 12) – The Duluth Professional FireFighter, IAFF Local 101, is proud to announce its endorsement of Elissa Hansen for Duluth City Council At-Large.
The endorsement came after screening the candidate and a vote in this months meeting. Elissa was endorsed based on her commitment to firefighter issues including supporting safe staffing levels and the rights of firefighters to collectively bargain.
As a Duluth City Councilor, Elissa plans to work toward building responsible economic development, investing in accessibility by balancing infrastructure projects, and supporting our social resources by building stronger relationships with key stakeholders.
Hansen states she is running because she “believes Duluth is a place where our community, its businesses, and policies can grow together with progressive roots”. Duluth needs passionate leaders who serve this community; who stand up when tough decisions need to be made. She will be one of those leaders.
The Duluth Professional FireFighter, IAFF Local 101, endorsement comes with significant power. The IAFF Local 101 has a long history of supporting candidates that support firefighters.
The mission of the Duluth Professional FireFighter IAFF Local 101 is to encourage a higher degree of skills; cultivate friendship and fellowship among members; negotiate fair compensation for work performed; reduce the workweek hours to allow for more study and recreation; elevate the moral, intellectual, social and economic conditions of workers; unite members for the betterment of their interest and rights as working people; protect against injustice, and promote the good name and well-being of the Duluth Fire Department.
